Miami Heat hasn’t had its shortage of iconic and immensely talented basketball players. From Shaquille O’Neal to LeBron James, many incredible players have called the Miami court their home. Since 1988 when the Heat was first launched, these have been their top and most historic players!

  1. Udonis Haslem

As the Heat’s reverse or starting forward, Udonis Haslem has brought effort and intensity to the court like never before. Haslem was born and raised in Miami, with his eye always on one day playing for his hometown’s team. In his 10-year career with the Heat, Haslem averaged 9.1 points and 7.8 rebounds. He also came in second in the number of games and minutes played; not to mention Haslem is also seventh in points scored.

  1. Tim Hardaway

Although Tim Hardaway was first passed off during a draft to the Heat in1989, they were lucky enough to have him on the team later on and he quickly became one of the Heat’s best players. Hardaway chalked up 17.0 points and 7.9 assists per game while playing point guard for the Heat. As the top three-point shooter in the team’s history, Hardaway comes in 10th in games played as well as fifth in points. Thanks to his skilled ball-handling, Tim Hardaway was a two-time All-Star for the Heat.

  1. Shaquille O’Neal

Now a household name, Shaquille O’Neal is known as one of the greatest basketball players of all time and graced the courts of Miami from 2004 to 2008. While his time with the Heat is widely renowned for his combination with Dwayne Wade, he definitely made a name for himself on the Miami court.  In his career with the Heat, Shaq averaged 18.6 points and 8.7 rebounds for the Heat, ranks fifth in blocks, ninth in total rebounds, comes in first in field-goal percentage, and finally third in points per game.

  1. LeBron James

In his time with the Miami Heat, LeBron James made history. When wearing the Heat’s jersey, James set the record for most consecutive 30-point games and is known as the main reason for the team’s second championship. During his time with the Heat, James comes in ninth for scoring and fourth in assists. Although LeBron James isn’t in the top 10 of most games played for the Heat, he is without a doubt one of their most iconic players.

  1. Dwayne Wade

It should come as no surprise that the legendary Dwayne Wade is at the top of the list of greatest players of all time for the Miami Heat. As a top-tier shooting guard, Wade’s accomplishments are on par with Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. When it comes to the Miami Heat specifically, Wade dominates over all the other players. Wade takes the lead in the number of games played, free throws, field goals, and more. While he comes in fifth for rebounding, he takes first place in points, assists, and steals for the Heat. Wade has scored a little under 6,500 points. With nine All-Star game appearances and seven total All-NBA selections, Dwayne Wade is clearly the Miami Heat’s greatest player of all time.
