Even with all of the unprecedented disappointments of 2020, Miami sports still achieved an impressive season. Sports-wise, the most significant loss was the lack of supporters in the stands. There is a lot to look forward to in 2021 for Miami professional sports teams. The excitement levels will be off the charts, for one thing, since fans have had to stifle their cheers for an entire season. They will once again get to taste and feel the experience of attending a live game. Miami sports fans will come back stronger than ever, with a newfound appreciation for what they have.

Football

Last year, The Dolphins made it to the postseason. There is a lot of excitement about all the new talent added for 2021 with the young roster and top-five pick in the NFL Draft, including two picks in the second round. The buzz is that Tua Tagovailoa will lead the Dolphins to the playoffs, and they will end with a postseason run.

Soccer

Continuing the trend of soccer’s increasing popularity, David Beckham became one of Inter Miami’s owners. After falling victim to the bad luck of COVID, everything was put on hold, but the excitement is building once again, with the vaccine pledging to fill the stands once again. 2021 will finally be the year that Beckham can say he put soccer on Miami’s radar.

Hockey

The Florida Panthers have a bad habit of starting a season well but not continuing the momentum. The new general manager, Bill Zito, is hoping to change all that. Fans are anxiously waiting to see how well the reorganization will affect this Broward County staple.

Baseball

The Marlins may have an exciting team lined up next year, but the main focus is on the first female General Manager in all sports. Kim Ng is not just getting acclaim because she is female. She is also incredibly qualified, talented, and smart. Sixto Sanchez is another reason people get excited since COVID won’t keep people from celebrating Sixto Day on opening day. Every time he pitches, especially when he is a home starter.

Basketball

The Heat will be able to fill their roster with free agents in 2021, which will be a game-changer in every sense of the word. Word on the street is that they are building a super team, and fans are willing to let them trade half of their players to get James Harden.
